What is available depends on the session setup.
Which desktop platforms are supported?
The current website setup supports the macOS app. Contact us for Windows 11 availability; its standalone proctoring flow does not have full macOS feature parity. Signals vary by operating system, permissions and connection status.
Can a candidate participate without the desktop app?
It depends on the session. In a combined live coding interview, candidates can continue without the app; desktop observations will be unavailable. Some assessments require the desktop app before starting. The company sets the requirements, and candidates who cannot meet them need an approved exception.
What do desktop observations reveal?
Application inventory includes names, identifiers and on-screen window counts, without application paths or window titles. Screen recordings and screenshots may still contain visible content. A hidden-window observation does not guarantee that the window’s contents are visible in a recording. Missing observations or recording gaps should not be interpreted as a clean result.
